


If the package to be installed is a driver or firmware required by a hardware device, it will not generally fall into the above category. Worst case scenario would be a package that replaces something needed by our system with a version that is completely incompatible. Usually this applies to packages from other RPM based distributions, due to variations in package names, required library versions, and possibly different file installation locations. I'll start by saying again, we discourage the practice of installing third party RPM packages, and if done, we will not officially support your installation thereafter, if that installation causes serious problems.
